Maintenance - Edit UserIDs - 9. Mobile Security (v2.8)
This option only applies if your company has the optional Micronet Mobile Applications module with the Warehouse functions enabled. You use this option to configure your users for paperless processes including:
- paperless picking – sales orders are downloaded from Micronet directly to PDAs for picking and despatch
- paperless sales force processes – sales orders generated on SalesForce PDAs are uploaded to Micronet
- paperless goods receipts – goods ordered via Micronet are loaded onto the PDA and checked as they arrive in the warehouse then posted back to Micronet
- paperless stocktakes – stocktake batches are created in Micronet, downloaded to PDAs for counting and then uploaded back to Micronet
- paperless transfers – transfers of items from one branch to another are created in Micronet then downloaded to PDAs for picking and despatch
- paperless putaways – stock received from suppliers is tracked as it is put away in the warehouse
- paperless imports – like goods receipts, goods ordered from overseas suppliers are loaded onto the PDA and checked as they arrive in the warehouse then posted to Micronet
- paperless bin inquiries (2.8 feature) – stock bins and quantities are downloaded from Micronet to PDAs
- paperless adjustments (2.8 feature) – stock can be moved from one bin to another and/or stock levels adjusted up or down on PDAs and the adjustments uploaded back to Micronet.
You also use it to set up security for users of the Warehouse Scheduler in Micronet – see "Sales - Scheduler".
To enter your user security settings for paperless processes:
- Add a new user, or open an existing user's record.
Refer to "Adding a New User" or "Updating a User".
Micronet displays the User File Update screen - Main tab.
- Select the 9. Mobile Security tab.
The User id and User Name fields at the top of the screen are displayed as the Current User on PDA screens:
Because the User File Update screen - Mobile Security tab contains a large number of fields, the fields are documented in separate topics. Apart from the General and Modules Access fields, each group of fields relates to a specific Micronet Mobile Applications module. You only need to configure the fields for the modules that this user has access to.
- Select the fields you want to update:
- When you have entered / updated all the fields required for this user, select FILE | SAVE.
